Krishan Wanigathunga

BAMS (Hons) · Ayurvedic Practitioner & Yoga Teacher

Krishan Wanigathunga is a qualified Ayurvedic Practitioner and Yoga Teacher with over 8 years of clinical experience, including 3 years in the Sri Lankan government health sector and 5 years in private practice.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS Hons) from the Gampaha Wickramarachchi Ayurveda Institute, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka. His extensive training combines traditional Ayurvedic medicine, therapeutic treatments, and yoga-based rehabilitation.

After relocating to Australia, Krishan further strengthened his professional credentials by obtaining membership with the International Institute for Complementary Therapists (IICT) and achieving Level 2 Yoga Teacher Registration with Yoga Australia — the highest general teaching level recognised by Yoga Australia.

Krishan offers a rare combination of comprehensive Ayurvedic medical training and advanced yoga education. His yoga therapy programs are fully integrated with Ayurvedic assessment, ensuring that each session is tailored to the individual’s constitution (dosha), current imbalances, health history, and therapeutic goals.

Throughout his career, he has supported clients managing chronic pain conditions, spinal disorders, neurological conditions, stress-related illnesses, musculoskeletal dysfunction, and post-injury rehabilitation and recovery.

Krishan is particularly recognised for his expertise in Ayurvedic Abhyanga therapy, therapeutic oil treatments, and integrated Ayurvedic management approaches for spinal and neurological disorders. His treatments combine traditional Sri Lankan Ayurvedic wisdom with a systematic, client-centred approach aimed at restoring function, reducing pain, and improving overall wellbeing.

His practice is grounded in authentic Ayurvedic principles while remaining professional, methodical, and informed by contemporary health and wellness standards.
